For many of you who’ve been following the NBA Playoffs very closely this year, it must be very hard to miss the high number of player’s getting injured in this year’s Playoffs. Many of these injuries have been suffered by starting players in the tournament, and have even forced some of these players to either be ruled out for multiple games or assessed from game-to-game. In this article, we’ll be taking a look at every Starting NBA player currently injured in the 2020/21 NBA Playoffs.
- Kyrie Irving
With the help of a healthy trio of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden, the Brooklyn Nets were able to put up impressive performances as well as advance to the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals of this year’s Playoffs where they faced the Milwaukee Bucks. Unfortunately for the Nets however, one of their starting players, Kyrie Irving, suffered an ankle injury in Game 4 of their series against the Bucks, and was ruled out from playing the remainder of the game. A few hours after the game ended, there were reports that Kyrie Irving would not be able to play in Game 6 against the Bucks and would be assessed from day-to-day. At the moment, there’s no report of when Kyrie Irving will be making a return to the court.
- Kawhi Leonard
Following the disappointing performance of the LA Clippers in last year’s Playoffs, this year’s squad were determined to do much better and possibly bring home the NBA trophy for the first time in their franchise’s history. Unfortunately for the Clippers however, one of their star players, Kawhi Leonard, was announced to have suffered a knee injury following their Game 4 victory against the Utah Jazz in the Western Conference Semi-Finals, and is being assessed from day-to-day. Currently Kawhi is doubtful for Game 6
- Danny Green
Since his move to the Philadelphia 76ers from the LA Lakers, Danny Green has proven himself to be an instrumental member of the 76ers roster, by helping the team advance to the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals where they faced the Atlanta Hawks. Unfortunately for the 76ers however, Danny Green was reported to have suffered a calf injury in their 127-111 Game 3 win over the Hawks, and has been ruled out for at least 2 weeks.
- Trae Young
Trae Young has been spectacular for the Atlanta Hawks this season; averaging 25.3 points and 9.4 assists this season, as well as leading the Hawks to an Eastern Conference Semi-Finals appearance against the Philadelphia 76ers. Unfortunately for the Hawks however, Trae Young was reported to have suffered a shoulder injury in Game 3 against the 76ers, but is being allowed to play games with minute restrictions.
- Mike Conley
Mike Conley was a very key part in the Utah Jazz’s title run in the Playoffs this year, averaging 17.4 points and 8.6 assists against the Memphis Grizzlies, in the Western Conference Quarter-Finals series. Unfortunately for the Jazz, Conley suffered a hamstring injury in the first-half of the Jazz’s series-ending Game 5 win over the Memphis Grizzlies (4-1) and has since been sidelined throughout the Jazz’s series against the LA Clippers in the Western Conference Semi-Finals.At the moment, Conley has been announced as doubtful for the Jazz’s Game 6 matchup with the LA Clippers and could possibly be sidelined for a much longer time with no return date announced as of yet
Other Notable Players include: Joel Embiid (Torn meniscus), James Harden (Hamstring Injury), Donovan Mitchell (ankle injury)
