On Saturday afternoon, a photo of former England International, Danny Rose, went viral on Twitter, after fans expressed their concern with the current state of the former Spurs player. In the now infamous picture, out of shape Danny Rose is seen wearing a Nike tracksuit whilst receiving a portrait of himself in an England kit, from a fan.
Many fans on Twitter, blamed Danny Rose’s recent decline on the treatment he suffered under Tottenham boss – Jose Mourinho – who wasn’t particularly impressed with Rose’s performance last season. Here were some few fan reactions to seeing Danny Rose’s new look:
Tensions between Rose and Mourinho flared up so much last season, it even got covered in Amazon Prime Video’s documentary All or Nothing: Tottenham Hotspur – a series about Tottenham’s 2019/20 season run. In the documentary, Danny Rose can be seen and heard complaining about the “unfair treatment” he felt he was receiving from Jose Mourinho, to which Mourinho responded saying he didn’t think Rose was good enough. Danny Rose, who formerly played as a Left-back for both England and Tottenham, currently plays for the Tottenham Reserves in Division 1 of Premier League 2 and has only played 2 games this season. Danny Rose made 94 appearances for Spurs, scoring 9 goals and providing 17 assists.
